OVERVIEW
It is a speculation design that we aimed to project a future with the end of the grid because of the frequent and repeated extreme weather in 2050. Our response is to construct a resilient and adaptive electricity transmission system in San Francisco conducted by three firms composed of localized generation, energy vehicles, and residential generation to sustain normal society working. I am responsible for designing the residential generation section.
Ele-apartment is an architecture containing multiple electricity self-generation in response to frequent extreme weather. The main electricity acquirement relies on batteries generated and delivered by the energy vehicles as needed. However, the high energy bills force the estate to develop a relatively isolated mode for residents to lower monthly bills. Ele-apartment provides three types of installations to generate electricity via solar panels applied to the surface of the building, wind turbines, and slides for residents to cut the magnetic line.

WHAT’S NEXT
With the current technology, generating electricity from bacteria as they decompose rotten food, getting electricity from the air, and utilizing red bricks to restore electricity exist. In 2050, people could not live without batteries and even live in each capsule of architecture called “batteries” to sustain their daily activities. The next step I plan to develop is to integrate all the approaches that can generate electricity and how to use them more sufficiently under restraint which is regarded as the frequent and repeated extreme weather. The goal is to provide a more holistic solution to cover people’s essential and entertainment demands and prevent them from being affected by the negative results due to bad weather.
